New perspectives on South American geology: a tribute to Emeritus Professor Reinhardt A. Fuck

 

Emeritus Professor Dr Reinhardt Fuck started his academic career at the Institute of Geosciences of the University of Brasilia in 1969. Throughout his career, he has made a massive contribution to the geology of South America, which is recorded in over 120 papers published in peer-reviewed, high-quality journals, as well as the supervision of 30 MSc dissertations and 23 PhD theses. Besides coordinating many projects such as Millenium Institute and INCT-Tectonic Studies.

 

To celebrate his career and contribution we are pleased to announce a Special Issue on the Journal of Geological Society of London in his honor. This volume features contributions from researchers who have had the privilege of working with him or benefiting from his work as a professor or researcher. The inputs will cover several topics, such as regional geology, crustal evolution and tectonics, geochronology, and geophysics, thus expanding the geological knowledge of South America.

 

Papers should be submitted no later than 30 September 2024.
